Dr. Faisal Hasnain Hooda is a Specialist Attending Physician in Internal Medicine, He has served as the Head of the Department of Internal Medicine at The Aga Khan Hospital in Mwanza, Tanzania. He is heavily involved in patient safety, care, assurance and medical leadership, he has led several key committees, including Infection Prevention & Control (IPC) and Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T), while also guiding Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes. Recognized for outstanding professional practice, he was awarded the prestigious "Resident of the Year" (2022) for Internal Medicine Speciality training at The Aga Khan University Medical College East Africa in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. In his undergraduate Medical School Training at The Catholic University of Health and Allied Sciences Bugando, Mwanza, Tanzania he has worn several accolades including “The Vice Chancellor’s Prize” (2016) and “Twenty-Eleven Team Scholarship Award” (2016). He brings a strong foundation in clinical expertise, teamwork, and leadership, focused on delivering exceptional patient care and promoting professional growth in healthcare settings. Besides clinical practice, he is also engaged in several local professional Associations including the Medical Association of Tanzania (MAT) and the Association of Physicians of Tanzania (APHYTA). He has been a feature speaker at several local and regional scientific conferences aimed at furthering scholarship, research and innovation. He also is an avid academician and researcher, having published papers in several reputable peer-reviewed journals.
